INSIGHT: Is your child truly happy? How do you know?

Defining the term might help. My friend Bobb Biehl defines happiness this way: "Happiness is having what you want and wanting what you have." It would be smart this year to help your child develop a clear understanding of what makes for happiness, and that happiness is a choice.

Bobb says that each of us will be a lot happier when we focus our thoughts on what we have that we want, instead of thinking about what we want that we don't have.

Help your child learn this principle and he or she will be happy!

Open "Dad's University" at your house.

Because kids expect dad to know everything, I'll provide here from time-to-time an interesting fact you can use to "dazzle your child or grandchild with your vast knowledge".

Fact: When you sneeze, you expel the air at approximately 100 miles an hour.
