These helpful insights, practical tips, and creative ideas are consistent with the most broadly held family values.

Editorial Scope and Style.
A. Editorial material addresses the family roles of fathering, mothering, child development, single parenting, step parenting, grand parenting and the roles of husbands and wives in marriage.

B. New parenting, family life goals and strengths, marital and family communication skills, child development stages, parental involvement in schooling, sports and extracurricular activities, teen issues, and marital strategies and stages are regular themes.

C. Work and family blending is emphasized.

D. The editorial emphasis is on short, simple, and easily understood family insights, “how to” tips, and creative ideas.

E. The editorial is a mix of inspiration, humor, and “how to” articles.

F. Preventing family problems is emphasized over problem-solving.

Editorial Point-of-View and “Language”.
A. All Smart Families, Inc. editorial material is consistent with a traditional, but contemporary view of marriage and family life.

B. Links in the newsletter to the client/sponsor’s web site provide the reader access to other editorial material, resources, and options.

A. Family Smart e-Tips Newsletter: Each bimonthly e-newsletter contains 5 features plus sponsor links and ads.

Tip 1: An inspiring or motivational quote.

Tips 2, 4 and 5: The title and opening text of a feature article on family life, parenting, and marriage themes.

Tip 3: An immediately applicable creative idea or family dynamics tip.

Right-side column: Links to additional family life tips, plus the sponsor’s announcements and web site links. Use this area twice a month to remind the reader about upcoming events, services, retreats, speakers, and meetings, etc.

B. Dad eTip e-mails: Each bi-weekly e-mail contains one fathering insight, tip or creative idea, covering a full spectrum of family situations and ages of children, plus a link to a weekly Romance Tip.

It is the policy of Smart Families, Inc. to fully protect and safeguard the privacy of all organizational and personal information received from clients, individual subscribers, and web site visitors according to the following provisions:

Management of e-Mail Addresses
A. E-mail addresses and any associated personal information is used only to deliver the e-mail resource under contract. Before any other use can be made, a separate “opt-in” decision from each individual (or contractor) will be required.

B. E-mail clients of Smart Families, Inc. are required to forward in a timely manner clear notice of every “unsubscribe” request they receive directly from a constituent.

C. Smart Families, Inc. will promptly notify a client when an “unsubscribe” request to an e-mail list or a complaint is received from its constituent.

Online Information Collection, Storage, and Sharing.
A. Smart Families, Inc. reserves the right to tract the web pages consumers visit on its sites. It does retain this information after analysis for the purpose of improving resources it offers.

B. Smart Families, Inc. does not collect a consumer's email address if he/she visits a chat area or bulletin board on one of its sites.

C. Information voluntarily provided by constituents while participating in an online survey or other site activity that requires the collection of information, may be stored at the option of Smart Families, Inc.

D. Smart Families, Inc. does not use "cookies" to collect consumer information.

E. Smart Families, Inc. only collects the information needed to complete a customer transaction.

F. Smart Families, Inc. does not disclose any personal information to a third party for any reason.

Site Security, Data Security, and Consumer Communications.
A. Smart Families, Inc. web sites utilize the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol that encrypts personal information being transferred over the internet.

B. Smart Families, Inc. maintains appropriate internal safeguards to protect against unauthorized access by employees (or anyone else) to data bases and the inappropriate disclosure of stored constituent information.

C. The Smart Families, Inc. Privacy Policy is available to consumers as a link on all web sites it maintains. Revisions that may be made to this Privacy Policy are clearly indicated, dated, and promptly posted.

D. Opt-in or opt-out requests received from constituents are confirmed by an e-mail reply which include the option of changing the request.
