Use these questions to launch a good conversation with your child.
The topics change bi-monthly.

Watch for an opening, then seize the moment. Lead off with... "Can I ask you a question?" or "I've been wondering..." As you talk, keep these tips in mind:

Go with the flow. These are only "starter" ideas designed to help you get things going. None are written in stone. None work every time. When the topic goes in another direction, flow with it!
Avoid lecturing, especially when your child sees things different from you. You seldom enjoy talking with a "know it all." Kids don't either. To succeed, cut your speaking in half and quadruple your listening. Relax!
Say "I don't know" when you don't.. Genuine responses are: "Let me get back to you on that? Great Question!... I need to think about my answer ... I know someone who knows." Etc.
